Really sweet bass here. I bought the bass from TalkBass's @jzucker and put on a brand new set of TI Jazz flat strings for $135 and flush mount Dunlop Straplocks on the back for a slinger strap. I am taking a loss on this one and offering up a tremendous deal for someone. Jay Pawar built the body, performed the de-fret and built up the bass. It is well balanced and feather light with Mwah for days. Here are the specs from the original thread: Bartolini BRP59CBJD-S1 Classic Jbass Dual Coil pickup Bartolini 918 preamp volume, bass/treble, master tone Gotoh Ultralight tuners 7lbs 34" scale swamp ash body, lacquer finish There are a few minor imperfections which are documented in the original Thread SOLD - REDUCED Custom Ibanez / Pawar Willis (fretless) Local Cash deal preferred but will ship on your dime (~$75 depending on location) {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {}
just wanted to pipe in that this bass started out as a chinese willis but with the hand-made ash body and real bartolini pickup and preamp, it's basically a willis for a fraction of the price. I selected the pickup at the advice at the recommendation of bartolin's doug sommervelle who told me that this pickup is basically what's under the hood of the willis pickup. Note, i'm not the seller of this bass but am the former owner...
I'll make a recording this weekend. I'm not a great fretless player so it could sound better in more talented hands.
Hi fruitlabor Here is a live recording from band practice. We are working on this gorgeous Jay Hawks song. Plenty of mistakes but you get the idea of what it sounds like. Perfect for this song Listen to Gonna Be A Darkness by TrackTwoStudio on #SoundCloud Gonna Be A Darkness
