7 string acoustic bass set?

Look for a 6-string set and a plain steel. You might also have some luck getting a 5-string set and a few acoustic guitar strings.

Guitar strings will be just fine (they're the same construction, just a different length) but F# probably won't happen because you won't find a bronze bass string that will go down lower than a low B - nobody makes them, and I don't know of any custom string companies that make strings for acoustics.

Plain steels can be harsh and loud next to wounds or bronze, try a .018-0.016 F to mellow the tone.

When i said electric strings i was referring to electric bass strings. Like a dean markley 7 set. how would nickel/steel strings sound on an acoustic bass?
