70's Fender Bassman 70 215 Cab

There is one of these for sale locally unloaded for next to nothing. I've been trying to find the specs of the box to see what kind of volume there is and if its even worth messing with. This is the model with diagonal 15's, not the vertical arrangement. It is a sealed cab and my thought was to put a couple of 3015's in it but without knowing the internal volume it's hard to say if it would work or not. Maybe add a port to it.

Anyway, any info or opinions anyone?

Johnk loaded his with K140s and loves it

Think another eminence neo does well in sealed.

Have to subtract .75 wall thickness and the 1.5 inch baffle setback to calculate.

Form factor is great and likewise with a 50 watt bassman sitting on top could do small rigs and recordings no problem with factory speakers or eminence betas or deltas

Deltalite II 2515 is a more suitable driver
If you wanted a neo in the cab

Its designed for sealed and vented and works well in small enclosures. Likewise a sealed application for 15 would be smaller than typical vented application.

Excellent. Thanks. I came up with 4.375cu/ft roughly for the volume based on that. I downloaded Win Isd the other day so I'll have to figure out how to use it now!

If I had that box, I'd consider a pair of BP1525's, crossover and 1 sealed back mid, similar to this project, but double the 15's: Sealed 15/6 build You'd be slightly smaller on the volume per driver, but I'm guessing it would still be in the sealed cab suggested volume range. If you look up the spec sheet on that 15 at eminence or parts express, the suggested sealed volume range is on the upper right. The sealed mid only needs a place to be mounted and won't interact with the 15's.

I've always felt that the diagonal pattern cabs were better, just because they were smaller than the big rectangular shaped ones; I haven't heard much good stuff about those ones, but the one you're talking about seem like they may sound better, because if the smaller space? I might just be drunk though, LOL... : )

I've used the JBL D140F's and the Eminence Delta 15LF's with great success. Both do well in non-vented cabs.
