'76 Jazz worth?

Just out of curiosity

I am the original owner of a 1976, Fender Jazz. Sunburst, maple/block inlay neck, black pg.

All original except stock pups replaced with Dimarzio(sp?) model J's and a brass nut.

It is in really nice shape other than some expected wear and a "ding" hear and there.

Not looking to sell, just curious.

My guess too.

With the original pickups (if you still have them around), nearer $2,000, I would guess :hmm:.

Whatever it is, it'll be damn sight more than the original buyer payed for it :p, so if you don't use, I think that you should just pass it on to someone who will and be happy with the profit that you make ;).

original pickups and pots can easily add $800 to the total value of a vintage bass> he could be looking at $2500 easy, maybe more.

I am the original buyer. I remember watching my parents fighting over why I needed such an expensive bass as my first. I think they paid $500 (ish) back in '77. I had the original pick-ups in a box and my basement flooded. Everything got destroyed. Fortunately, the bass always stayed upstairs with me.
