78 Fender P change pickups to CS62?

I have a 78 Fender P bass and it looks to have the original pickups installed.

It might be a bit of a noob question but im after your feedback; is it worth keeping these original pickups OR replace with the Custom Shop 62's?

Ive heard that the orig pickups arnt a very good tone, it sounds ok at the moment, im about the replace the old strings.

Why not wait and see? Original Pickups may be what you like. I'd imagine the purevintage 70's Fender PUPS would be closer to he originals rather than CS 62.
