Here's that neck joint.

The carving was done with a router and an angle grinder of all things. Nateo did that part.

couple of things i learnt about guitar design. both horns shouldnt be wider/bigger than the body. the lower horn is almost bigger. the upperhorn is a bit big too.

one thing i do to make my bulky basses more sleek is to heavily curve the bodies to an extent of full circles at the horn a la Warwicks.

I always thought the design of the horns was to enhance playability. Now, I'm not an expert, but making the horns further away from the body should give you some extra room to play in the upper register. And even if that bass DID look bad, it'd still probably play better than any other! :cool: Nice work, Geoff.

effin amazing work on the 8-string...but i have a few questions...what are the neck specs for the width at the 24th fret and width at nut b/c im building me an 8-string but i have no were to get starting measurments from so if ya could help me out i'd love it thanxz man!!!!! i <3 those pup covers as well

Hey, thanks a lot.

Well, the ideal thing to do would be to decide what spacing you'd like at the bridge and the nut and then work according to that. I have 16.5 mm string spacing at the bridge and 9 mm string spacing at the nut. My width at the 24th fret is about 4.25" (109 mm).
