800$ limit on gigging rig

So I got an interesting question, I've got roughly 800$ to work with to achieve a gigging rig that I can use with metal/rock as well as pop/blues/country. Only catch is it needs to be from the Zzounds website. I use a Fender P and a Ibanez Talman 310 if that makes any difference. What do you guys think? Combos are fine too, weight is no issue!

EDIT:: Someone else brought up a good point, and I totally agree. 200$ limit on used cabs in nearby areas. I live roughly 3 or so hours south of Chicago, so my local CL isn't great with deals.

This is just for my personal tastes, and might not be the best choice for your needs:

Quilter TB201 200w head ($449)
Fender Rumble v3 4x10 Speaker Cabinet ($399)

Total = $849

If you think 200 watts isn't going to cut it, and you could stretch your budget up to $1,000 (or shop used!!!), then you could get the Quilter BB800 head. 800 watt head and a 4x10 cabinet should cover most gigs (except possibly metal).

If Quilter is not to your taste, you could get either a Fender Rumble 500w or Ampeg Portaflex 500w head, in the $399 price range.

The Fender combos mentioned above are also a great suggestion!

I have gigged often with the TMB310 (bars, casinos, weddings, etc.) and use the Fender Rumble 500 Combo. I have never had an issue getting great tone or being heard over two guitars with 4x12 stacks. It has never failed me, not to mention it is light and stupid easy to eq and get great sounds from.

The vintage button on the rumble is also great for toning down the "hotness" of the TMB.

As been said, with that budget and constraint of being sold from Zzounds, a Rumble 500 + Rumble 4x10 will get the job done at precisely $800 total (don't forget a speaker cable, though!). You can always go overkill down the road and get a second 4x10, too.

A matching Fender Rumble Stage 210 is in the works and should be arriving shortly. 800 clean continuous & honest Fender watts along with a vertical four ten stack of custom designed Eminence drivers will do the trick twice as loud. Rumbles Rock!

Two things you need to seriously consider: firstly; just how good are you with technology and with plain old EQ? and second, the Stage 800 has the V2 & V3 Rumbles inside plus 11 more iconic amp models. How much are you going to miss not having them? Also as a side bar, are you really going to turn your wife down when she green lights the Freaking Fabulous Fender Rumble Stage 800!!! Are you crazy?!!!

If you are "locked" at $800, then it would appear that the Rumble 500/Rumble 410 would be your go to for now (and maybe quite a few good years!).

Cash is king. I would save my money, get a part time job if necessary. You can buy old Peavey equipment for practically nothing.

OP said it needs to be from the Zzounds website. My guess is he had a refund for store credit, or is utilizing a credit type of purchase. Cash is only king when you actually have it.

Allow me to dogpile on the Fender Rumble 500.
I got the combo because it was beyond a killer deal secondhand, but it has proved to be a very good little combo and i use it often.

This is what I did, but you can find some deals. A used 500h for 300 and a new scratch and dent 4x10 (with a tiny dent below the grill) for 279 is what I spent on this exact setup. Then I picked up a Keeley Bassist compressor and am still under 800.

Don't listen to such negativity. Such people will never be on the cutting edge of anything. All their kitchen knives will be dull old second hand yard sale 'finds'. Ya sure right. New sharp knives for me, and the best new bass amps in the Milky Way. Don't settle for less, because that is exactly what you'll get. Go for MORE because you are damn well worth it!
