a bassist-father milestone

Today my son pointed to a picture of a banjo and said "bass!" He is not even two yet. (Also: note to self, never ever teach him the word "banjo.")

Don't blame yourself, but in fact you misinterpreted the drawing. Adults are imagination-handicapped. Your son is on the cutting edge of futuristic designs. He drew a bass, dad. A bass that even Leo Fender never thought of.

My son was using a drum machine by age 3 and now wants to be a drummer. My daughter wanted to play bass at the age of 3 as well. He is 5 now and she is still three. Being a father is the best thing in the world.

Playing bass with my band backing up my 14yo daughter singing a Amy Winehouse song ("Valerie"). She nailed it.
