I bought a Zoom Q2n audio/video recorder about 3 years ago to record our gigs, and always had a problem using it - it would quit part way through the video. I always figured it was the wrong type of memory card, or the external battery wasn't working right, or the power cable was bad.
A couple of weeks ago I decided to figure out what was really happening, and found the problem was that the USB jack was not seeing the external power - it would just run until the internal batteries ran down.
Today I called Zoom customer service to see if I could get it fixed, and they told me it is a known problem and they would replace the unit. When I said it was out of warranty, and they said they will replace it anyway with the latest 4k model at no cost!!
Now THAT is customer service! Go, Zoom!
