A case that fits a thunderbird?!? (other than the obvious)

Right, I need help on searching for a bass guitar hard case that will fit an thunderbird bass guitar somewhere online in the UK,( I understand that there is an epiphone case that is FOR the thunderbird, but no one in the UK has them in stock sadly :( )

I've looked all over the place and there are lots of cases that look as if they MIGHT fit but I don't really want to buy one only to find out the bloody thing wont fit!

So if anyone out there has a thunderbird/explorer/other strange shaped bass that fits nicely into a case that isn't designed specifically for that bass, Any help would be massively appreciated :D thanks!

wow,i wish cases for these things weren't such a problem..

Wellllllllllllll........... they are supposed to be sold with the case. Then you avoid all of this.

I walked into Guitar Center and bought an Epi Bird case before.

But it was nice to get a 12 year old Gibson with an original case, still in amazing shape (handle worn, not big deal). I feel like it could go through a hurricane. The Epi case is what it is. The Original Poster should just order one... what's the big deal? And I know its just an Epiphone, but you don't want a case that isn't designed for the guitar. What's the point? It won't hold it nearly good enough for my liking.

true, ordering one is the easiest way to get one.but looking around in local guitar shops/guitar centers?? not so much.alot of ppl have trouble finding epi bird cases in stores, people ask about them all the time on here.i found mine out of luck, used for $60.believe me if that store didn't have it,i wasn't going to end up finding anywhere else, and there were quite a few stores i looked in

I guess I just got lucky? The guitar Center had just gotten a shipment of 2 in.

*shrug*

Unless you get super lucky like you, getting one from online would be cheaper. Get some new strings and a bag of picks and have it all sent to you and then good to go. I got my Epi case cause I wanna give that guitar to my brother (if he wants) and I have to send it to him. Other than that, I never had a case for that Bird. Made her wear nicely, too. Always had it in the car, so no worries about major damage.

I did order one, the "big deal" is that was about 8 weeks ago... Epiphone cases for thunderbirds are as rare in shops as the basses themselves in the UK at the moment, and I need one sooner than the predicted 3 month waiting lists as I am in a gigging band and don't my bass getting bashed up :D

Luckily I found a case with a body section that is at least half the length of the case itself, So the bass should fit in there with space :smug:

Cheers for the help guys! :D
