$500...easier to find in Japan than here but I got lucky with the one in the middle
No other company has so many different finishes.

Oh yeah...and since Im from singapore(i accidently clicked japan in my profile sorry...),I did see a Lot of bacchus basses and other japanese brands! we technically have every brand for sale here...new or second hand.

I'd get a Precision, but, if you're slapping, a Jazz bass would probably be a better fit with your Hofner.

As far as I know Les Claypool's main bass features a P Pickup only.

Oh yeah...and since Im from singapore(i accidently clicked japan in my profile sorry...),I did see a Lot of bacchus basses and other japanese brands! we technically have every brand for sale here...new or second hand.

Japanese basses are the way to go...Bacchus, Atelier Z, etc, even the G&L and Fender models over there can't be found over here.

I love the way my Sire feels in my hands, the neck is incredible, the fit and finish is excellent… just make sure you get the active electronics, the pickups aren't as good without the active circuit. The active circuit keeps the true, classic Jazz Bass (or P) sound without making it sound like an 80's Warwick

I haven't had one of the M-series in hand, if I did it would be a 6 string fretless but I'm unsure if they offer the M in fretless…
