I don't know if any one you remember me posting a while back but I got a fleabass street bass brand new and it was broke. I want to sell it, but, i want to put it back to its original factory state to be able to say it's 'like-new'. Nothing bad or anything, the only thing i did to try and fix it was replace the volume and tone pot and also the ground wire to the bridge as it was practically melting.
SO! Unfortuately, my dad wasn't around to solder for me but i knew how to do it, i just made a bit of a mess..
But anyway, I'm getting that problem where it hums/buzzes when i'm not touching the strings (even though its a dual coil humbucker) but i realise after looking at a helpful website on guitar wiring that I may have mixed up the ground wire and the hot wire from the input jack. I know, silly me.
SO! If the ground wire from the input jack was going to the middle connection of the volume pot and the hot from the input jack was going to the the base of the tone pot as the ground, would that cause a buzzing?
I know, your probably thinking, 'why dont you try it out dumbass' but i make a terrible mess of solder XD
