A Pink Squier… This is a First for Me

Was really interested in the Squier Paranormal Series Rascal basses when they came out, but never was able to see and play one in person. Really liked the Sherwood Green model. Would never have even looked at a pink one. But a friend that I play with at church had a Shell Pink one out at practice tonight. He has a lot of guitars/basses so I thought it was an expensive one at first glance. Took me a while to realize it was a Rascal. Anyway, I was really intrigued by it. Played it for a while after practice, and was really impressed! Oddly enough, I found myself loving the color combo with the tort guard. Just looks so nice in person. Pictures just don’t do it justice. Came home and looked at a few. Got a really good offer on one and snatched it up. Not a photo of my actual bass, but one like it. Love how it looks, love how it plays even more!

The tort guard on mine was pretty muddy looking, so I decided to make a change:

I have no problem rocking a pink bass. I occasionally rock my shell pink fender shirt and it would match this nicely. Looks like you need a new shirt, or I need a new bass.

Bass came in today. Honestly, this could easily pass for a much more expensive bass. Finish is flawless, and it plays very well. Will do a bit of fine tuning with the setup once’s it’s been inside for a day or so. Very pleased with it. First short scale bass I’ve owned, it I like it.

That’s awesome. It’s almost like it doesn’t require a master craftsman to make a decent slab body bolt on neck bass. Matching headstock for the win!

When I read pink I looked intending to not like it. Wrong. That's a nice looking bass! And I agree about the headstock. I have a thing for matching headstocks.

9/10 times I don't like Laurel boards. This is 1/10 that I can genuinely say looks nice. It has some life to it.
