A precision neck on a musicmaster body?

Could this work? I am new, obviously, to the "bass building" business.
From pictures it looks like it might not work, but I thought I would ask before I buy a neck. I was planning on changing the bridge out too, but would I have to do anythign special to the bridge IF it does fit correctly?

It wouldn't- the bridge would have to be moved back beyond the edge of the body.

Well, it's a short scale bass with the bridge almost right at the edge of the body. Installing a long scale neck would mean moving the bridge further back, but there's just no room for that on a Musicmaster.

1) it would be hopelessly, horrendously neck-heavy with no way to correct the balance.

2) The scale length would be incorrect and non-correctable as noted above.

That Musicmaster ought to be be a great short-scale bass on its own. I'd LOVE to have one!

Well, now I'm going to just strip and paint it, put a new badass bridge on it (if it fits.) add a hotter pickup, and then put her back together again.
Unfortunately I already bid on a neck on ebay, if I win it, I guess i'll have to buy a precision body and restore that.
