A question on Elixir

i'm still using the free set that i got from Elixir for the survey they hosted here on TalkBass.. i think it was something like 4-4.5 years ago.. i've had this set on 4 different basses..

they gave me a purple insulated "Elixir" coffee cup for doing the survey.. lol..

So to all you fans of Elixir, do you guys get little threads of coating coming off right where the picking/fingering goes on? This has happened to me and I don't like it. Any ideas about this?
