Hi everyone!

I'm a huge Jamiroquai fan, especially of Stuart Zender in the early days of the band. Ever since I heard him playing I've been meaning to get into playing bass, and now the time is finally here. My nickname might be a little hint to what my favorite Jamiroquai song could be...

My dad's been playing guitar for a very long time. He's a huge Status Quo fan among many other rock bands, but I guess I'm more a funky guy myself. Japanese citypop is also great and something I would play along someday - think of Tatsuro Yamashita, for example.

He's given me his Squier Affinity P-Bass which I'm proudly going to learn on. I don't think he ever used it much as he is more into playing guitar. Maybe not the best piece out there, but it's probably great for the start. I think personally I would love to play a Warwick someday, just like Zender did.

I can't wait to start playing. Picking up the bass next week! Other than that, I think I've got everything I need here. A brand new Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen, some Fender cables, D'Addario EXL165 strings. My friend recommended me the Beginner To Badass bass course from Bassbuzz, so that is something I might look into as well. I am still going to look through lots of resources in the forums, though.

Anyways, I'm happy to be here! I'd love to talk to likeminded people, especially if you like the same kind of bands as I do. Definitely recommend me stuff, too!

I'm a big City Pop fan!
I'm currently trying to learn Stay By Me by Anri, played by the great Tomohito Aoki. I'm also a big Toshiki Kadomatsu fan, who Aoki was the main bass player for. Tetsuo is also amazing with so many great hits, I'm listening to the albums For You and Melodies at the moment which are great. Koki Ito is a killer bass player. Then you have the Jazz fusion groups like Casiopea, T-Square, Dimension. Just so many amazing bass players to come out of Japan.

That's awesome! And I really agree, there's so many amazing bass players coming out of Japan. Casiopea is awesome, and I recently stumbled upon T-Square too, especially HANK & CLIFF. Really cool song and I love the bass in it. Gonna go more through it while I am learning. I just started with the BassBuzz course and I'm having so much fun already! If I can keep my motivation up, then I think I should be able to play pretty well in no time. Very excited for that lol.
