Double Bass A-string

When tuning a small 1/2 bass I have, I can tune all the string fine. I play G on the E string and it fine. F on the D string is fine. They are both in line with each other fret wise, but my C on the A string is not inline with the others, although the A string is int tune. I hope that makes sense. I am an over thinker therefore and over explainer!

Sounds like a setup issue. Do you have a luthier you can take it to?

IMO the most likely cause would be that the nut slots are not consistently deep for all strings. If the slot is shallower for the A string, it would cause more deflection and therefore a sharp pitch. If deeper, a flat pitch.
