Double Bass AAJ Pickup

I will most likely pass on this, even though I am curious, because when I asked about a warranty/return policy he wrote:

"I am a musician and a master craftsman I always do a test and make sure everything is ok I have sold both Europe and Asia and USA and they were satisfied."

Not much of a warranty if you ask me! Plus, I don't trust anyone who does not use periods!

I recently tried a pickup based on a YT video, but made sure to ask if I could return it if not satisfied. Good thing I did because it was the most terrible POS I have ever seen. He gave me my money back with no questions.

The Stat B is problematic but man when it works it sounds great. I have it on my little bass right now. But I am totally digging what the wilson can do in a band. It cuts but has a clear body sound too (I have 2 of the pickups back on the leg) .
Always interested in what you are up to with these choices.

The Schertler Stat B is one of a few electrostatic pickups for Double Bass. They sound different than piezo’s. Less “honk”
I almost purchased one several times but mounting them requires fitting and trimming the cork. Once I got the RedEye Preamp
the Ehrlund EAP sounds so good with either of my basses I stopper looking for something else,

I've had this pickup on my bass for a couple of months. The guy who makes it is a serious guy, but I agree with you that no warranty and no return policy can be a no go.
To the sound, good, very even across the spectrum; even though the position, the sound is quite far from the Realist.
Couple of cons.
- On my bass the output was too low, so I had to crank the volume, bringing up the annoying piezo quack and it was prone to feedback;
- the shim isn't that thin, more than 1mm, so if you don't have adjusters (I do, but that's not everyone's case) it could screw your strings height.
I hope it helps.
