What year did Fender stop using Brazilian rosewood and go to Indian on their fretbaoards? Was it 1968-69? I want to finally know finally for sure.

I'm no absolute expert, but I know they stopped by the mid '60s for the most part. Some of the early ones had Indian R/W, too, as they didn't use Brazilian exclusively.

Some scources think the bulk of the switch over to Indian rosewood took place gradually starting in the late 60's finishing up by the early 70's, with some instruments with Brazilian rosewood showing up in that time span as well according to some. I don't claim to be an expert. Maybe someone who was a Fender employee at that time could clear up the mystery.
