Absolute Gear for working bass player

Yeah, clarification on whether this thread is session or live would be helpful. In either case its really important to know what your venue has for you as the bass player. If the club has a house system that they are comfortable with, then its really not necessary to bring your 8x10 wonderamp. If your sound HAS to include YOUR amp than you are missing the boat and probably frustrating a lot of hard working industry folks. The players can get it done with their fingers....PERIOD. That said, while nobody can cover all of the basses(NPI), there are many good suggestions in this thread and success favors those who come prepared.

I would say that is essential - no other way you're going to get to the gig - the drummer won't have room to give you a lift and even if he did he'll be hoping that somebody else will need a ride home!! ;)
