Just a heads up, this is some blatant Ibanez content spoken by an admitted fanboy of said company.

I remember years ago playing the SR300e basses when they were brand new. Liked the tone, thought the coil tap was a great feature paired alongside the 3-band EQ. They had some REALLY sexy finish options on that bass, so given how enticing they were I had a Cerulean Blue Burst one on order for a while when they first released (years ago). I could have gotten a Flat Black or Iron Pewter one immediately, but I wanted to hold out for the fancy finish since they were about the same price.

I cancelled that pre-order, being tired of waiting for it. Fast forward several years, and I can't find a new one anywhere that I'm looking. MusiciansFriend has one, but they are only doing 6-month financing (really dislike the color anyways). I can't trade in some gear and get a 10% discount like I could at GC or get 24-month financing like I could at Sweetwater.

I realize the "you know what" is to blame here, but anybody place a pre-order for one of these and receive the item yet? If so, how long did it take?

As an update, Thomann USA has them in stock but says:

"Sadly we cannot deliver Ibanez products to your country of choice. Please consider products of a different manufacturer or switch to another delivery country."

Now I have even more questions than before...

My google search for your cerulean blue bass returned a store on Atlanta with ready to ship stock , for 349 bucks. It also advertises up to 12 month financing.

That was probably the third link down the list. I’m sure there’s many others.

Didn't find that one, but apparently Sam Ash has them in stock. I shoulda cycled through more of the colors as a bunch of them will show as out of stock except for one.

Out of curiosity, which was the place you were referring to?

Musician's Friend and Guitar Center are the same company with the same inventory. Did you ask your local GC if they can give you the trade-in 10% when they order it?

I'm pretty familiar with how Sweetwater operates and I think (note the verb, please). The Cerulean Blue might be finished (at SW, anyway) for this year/run/whatever. So, if you REALLY want one, I would get it wherever you can and see if you can borrow money privately so you don't have to worry about the company's finance policies.

The other option (which I'm sure is a "no-go") is to get the SR2600 from Sweetwater (with the 24 month financing) and just tighten your belt/bite the bullet on the cost.

I have one and I never thought the extra outlay would make a huge difference (Law of Diminishing Returns) and I may be a little underwater in that regard, but I'm pretty close (because I got a great price).

If I can help, let me know.

ETA: I just looked at the Cerulean Aura Burst. That's a pretty sweet looking instrument, too!

Maybe because there's no Thomann USA, they just show prices etc in US$ when you choose the USA 'version'.

There must be some restriction as to what models sell in what regions, unfortunately. Other brands do it sometimes too. It sucks when it happens...

Just a heads up, the major music stores (Sweetwater, GC, Sam Ash) will usually match each others financing. They all use the same financing company.

I can't remember if it popped up as the URL or something of that nature in the process (that was last week lol). I know they're centrally based out of Europe, but wasn't sure if they had distribution or some warehouse for ease of shipping here as well.

Yeah, they shipped to both Canada and Mexico no problem (checked on the cart page), but no go on the USA. Mehh...I'm posting an update here in a moment regarding the situation.

With how often Ibanez does discontinuations, it would not surprise me in the least. I love their basses, but sometimes that can get a little frustrating when they cut a model out unexpectedly.

Indeed! I'm updating the situation below in a moment.

So as an update to the whole situation, here's where we are....

After some digging, Sam Ash had about two different finishes still on hand at their warehouse....the Champagne Burst I'm not a fan of and (dah da da daaaahhhh!!)....Cerulean Aura Burst. They also had 48-months no interest financing on any Ibanez purchases over $249!! Ordered it on Friday and it should be here on Tuesday of this week. According to Sam Ash it has already been shipped out since yesterday.

I'll let everyone know how it goes! Don't wanna jinx myself by getting too happy, I'll be happy when it arrives and all is well. :bassist::hyper:
