Acostic string buzz

Hey guys, I have brand new Dean EAB that I really love playing. The only problem is that I get some buzzing and string noise when I fret the strings. I know I can adjust the truss rod, but I don't know which way to go. Any help would be apreciated.

Just got this bass used at Sam Ash. They strung it with nylon tapewound strings. They are silky with no string noise or buzz. May be an easy solution for you.

Often a Bass will buzz when not in an amp & turned on. If that's the case, I would determine if [when played at a casual level of plucking] the string, when amplified, gives a clean tone: if so - let it be.
Many low actions can make a slight buzz if the finger is not directly against the fret when played un-amplified.
