because it has performed without fail since 1975.

 

I bought one new in 1976, and it was dependable until I sold it, about 10 years later. It was a good-sounding solid state amplifier for its time, but I much prefer most of what has been produced in the years since (brands like GK).

 

It's a very simple but great sounding amp. Buy it if you can.
