You should buy this head so I don't. It's the amp your 104 is designed to pair with and it works for guitar and bass.

this was my first post ever on talkbass and all of you gave me such useful information, i feel blessed. i already bought a bass head since i last went on here but many of you were saying i should get a hi-pass if i plan on using this for bass. i dont know what a hi-pass is or where to even start to look for which kind to get. the head i got is a Randall Bass 500 tube head. its from the 70s, just like the cab so they look real sexy together and its in excellent condition, minus the missing little rubber knob on on of the eq levers, 4 ohms and i believe 200 watts. i havent gotten a chance to use it in fullest potential yet, but i got a show wednesday so ill tell yall how it goes. heres a pic, i got it for 150bux.

Well I don't think it's any less of a bass speaker than a CTS driver equipped Ampeg 8X10.
It's just a pair of ten inch full range speakers less, use it with a tube amp and make bass sounds like
"The who live at Leeds" OK it ain't going to be the best reggae cab but not everybody wants smooth round bass.
Some people want that bright mid forward clang that cab will do perfectly.X
PS Let the DI and PA fill in the wobbly and boomy bit just enough at the gig. Why boom up the stage with superfluous low frequency information?.

I had one of those CTS SVT cabs years ago it out plenty of bottom although it couldn't handle the full 300 watts out of the head, but it sounded good for bass.

I am pretty certain that the head is all solid-state and not tube.

I am very curious if that "bass roll filter" is actually a "high pass", you may have one built in which would be pretty cool!

According to this video (like Basturd said above ^), the Randall is a solid state amp, built in the 80's.
