Acoustic B600H

I was just at GC the other day, and i played it through one of the new Acoustic 8x10's.
It was pretty meh.
Played a Lakland whatevertheycalltheirjazzbass through it.
Not good, but not bad. It had a pretty boring tone, in my opinion. However, the pricepoint was decent enough for something brand new. It could easiy move air through that 8x10 and i didn't have to be turned up much at all (at about 1 or 2, haha) to be heard.
I would still MUCH rather preffer something used. But for someone concerned about owning something brand new and on a budget, it's not bad. I'd still go GK or MarkBass before i got one of these new Acoustics.

So I went to GC, Tried it out and really like it. I just sold my mid 70's SVT. Got a really good price for it. Plus the weight made me sell it. Nothing like an SVT. They are the best. But I really like the Acoustic b600h. I can dial it in with the EQ and Notch setting to get a growly bitey sound. I find I'm getting the tone that I was always dialed my SVT to. I always like the tone on the song Sultans of Swing. Anyway, I gigged with it and with the band it sounded even better when in the mix with other instruments. Just cut thru and had definition. And this thing is loud. I had to keep my gain and volume no higher the 10:00. And I'm considered a loud bass player. I've owned the GK 700rb II and even the 1001rb. Bought them because I thought they would give me the growl/bite but I could never get that from those heads. Although, they are very good heads as well. But for me, the Acoustic b600h sounds awesome. I play in two bands and use it with a 2x15 and a 4x10 cab.
I use a B600H. I bought it (used) with a B410 Acoustic cab. Cab has no tone. None. I got rid of that and picked up an Ampeg 410HLF Classic. The B600H seemed to come to life. Just played a gig on Saturday, and I was very happy with it once I got it dialed in. But I'm not one to keep a rig too long, so now I'm looking at a GK 700. For a low cost head the Acoustic is ok. But you'll eventually want to upgrade.
