Acoustic bass guitar

I've had my Ibanez AEB5E acoustic since Christmas 2012 and it is a great bass. For the majority of that time I've had it strung with D'Addario Tapes and it just sounds great.

Now I'm starting to consider moving it into more frequent rotation. I'm thinking about some GHS Precision Flats because they're reasonably priced and I'm ready for something new. My only concern is going from years of Tapes to a set of flats. The GHS Medium scale set is 45-60-75-95; any thoughts on tension?

I dig my Taylor AB-1 with Labella black nylon tapewounds.

The Manzer wedge body is narrow at the top (under the arm) and wider at the bottom so it's much easier to play than a typical large body ABG:

Sounds great too!

Hi bholder,

Thanks for the awesome photos. Never saw several of those before. A bass banjo?! Wow. Lol.

I have been looking around at ABGs trying to figure out what I wanted to buy and am curious what you think about the Guild with the compensated bridge (don't know the model) and the El Capitan and the Aria?

Thanks in advance.
