Acoustic Bass Guitars with Serious Mojo

Neither of these basses is new (look at the playwear), and close scrutiny of the pics suggest they both have slotted headstocks. That being the case, both of these basses could be eighty years old and passed down through generations. They may have gotten to the Phillipines thanks to a layover by the U. S. Navy.

That is certainly possible.

Many small-shop/homegrown type folk instruments might also be constructed from pictures or plans or knowledge just as old and with tools and techniques that leave the finish product looking a little rough around the edges like an old relic.

I'm gonna hop to YouTube and see if there are any videos of these groups where one can actually hear that instrument.
