Have you used this DAW software?

What are your thoughts on it?

7 is the newer version.

I use Windows 10.

Saw a review online where it said that this (AM6 Home Studio) is supposed to be the PC equivalent of 'GarageBand'.

'GarageBand' and this were said to be the most user friendly.

I'm not looking for a platform that has 10,000 bells and whistles. I just want to be able to lay down a half decent track.

I haven't used it, but I have looked at it. I think for folks who are used to Garageband, or who have not done much linear editing in the past, it's not a bad way to go. I eventually didn't purchase it for a number of reasons - cost being the main factor. But also because I wanted to use to a more "professional" level software DAW.

Many folks here, myself included, use Reaper. It's more of a traditional DAW, with support for MIDI and standard VST plugins. I use it because it's good, and because it's cheap (maybe even free, wink wink). It does require some learning, but there is tons of good documentation. And the Reaper forum is very helpful.

I used version 5 a couple of years ago as my best friend's son was getting into music and found it very intuitive and surprisingly full-featured for a $55 software. I got around creating a quick track with effects and some mixing in around 15 mins from full I don't know what this software does to full 4 track "song" completion.
