Acrylic and aluminum bass

I am strongly considering doing an aluminum bass. I have access to a maker space with a CNC large enough to mill a neck, and have done a lot of research into how Travis Beans and EGC instruments are built.
Although I'm sure there's lots of problem areas to work out, the one thing I'm really unsure of at this point is how to build in neck relief. The Beans and EGC's don't have truss rods and therefore any relief has to be machined into the neck (or into the frets, but that might not be ideal).
I haven't been able to watch this video yet, but has anyone got information on how to approach this?
