so just about two months ago i got a sweet new set of Steve Harris signature flats for my '08 American Standard P Bass. these strings are much higher tension than the nickel d'addario's or whatever i had on there so obviously the action raised up a bit so i adjusted the saddle and after about two weeks, i cranked the truss rod one quarter turn.
played it for another 2 weeks and adjusted the saddle and gave the truss rod another quarter turn.
here i am another couple weeks later and my action is still a bit higher than i'd like. should i adjust and tweak my truss rod again? should i be concerned? are these strings too high tension for my bass?
i'm loving the tone and feel of the flat strings but i don't want to sacrifice the longevity of my bass.
