Active pickups and controls question

Probably not.
You need a 25K/50K volume control regardless of whether it's before or after the preamp.
If you want to add a passive tone control, that will also require a 25K/50K pot.

If you used 250K/500K pots, they probably wouldn't do anything until the very end of the rotation.

I have BassLines ASB-5 pickups right now, that I want to change. I ordered a pair of passive SGD pickups, but before I get them, I was wondering if I could try if my wiring is ok, with the current active pickups.
By the way line6man, have you read my other recent post regarding my wiring question (http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=616646)?

Sorry, I don't know squat about Graphtech's piezo systems, so I really can't offer any info on what's going on with your wiring.

I would suggest that you finish wiring it up completely first, to see if that solves the issue.

It's been one month since I ordered my pickups, but I ordered his very new sidewinders, plus he had some technical troubles, and also the Xmas / new year period, so I guess it's normal if the wait is long. I know his pickups attract more clients which makes his schedule busy. I'm not making any bad press about David, it's normal to have some waiting time for custom made pickups.
