active speakers?

I have a few ART312-As, and they are also great, but much heavier than your 10”.

Too bad the price went up about $100 in the past few months…

Another vote for the RCF ART 312As. They are an excellent speaker and have never let me down since I first got them (almost a year ago). I have used them both as mains and monitors and while I am not a huge fan of the monitor angle, it is acceptable for most applications. As mains, they have also far surpassed my expectations for sound quality and volume. I have also heard the 310As and the sound from them was also very pleasant.

Another speaker you might want to look into is the Alto Truesonic series. While I have not used or heard this specific speaker, I have read great things about them and I use the Alto SXM112 for stage monitors and they have been a real bargain at $300. I would even put them on the same level as the RCFs as far as sound quality.

Wow… funny, I just ordered two of those Alto coax powered wedges the from Hello Music for $235+$9 shipping. They’re not here yet, but in a few days they will be, and I’m looking forward to seeing how they perform. Stages get pretty tight, and I thought the smaller footprint would help a bit, not to mention the better angle over the 312s.

Glad you like them, as I couldn’t really find much by the way of reviews. :)

Do the RCFs point too low or too high? Could I fix that by putting a chuck of wood under it or will they just fall back?

Unfortunately I can't find these Altos in Europeen onlineshops (musicstore.com and thomann.de). To avoid oversea shipping I'll take something I can find here.

Too low if you want it near your feet aimed at your head; looks to be 45-degree angle...

and with the plug and jacks on the back, just propping the front up might not work so well.

It’s not really an ideal wedge in that respect.
