Active to Passive

I have a 90s Axcelerator 18 volt active. Pots are destroyed and I would like to just install a passive new harness. Can I use the old soapbars in a passive system?

Yes, but I'm not sure what you should use for the value of the pots, perhaps 50K Ohm,,,

If the preamp is still there why not just replace the pots? You'll have to order 3 anyway. It's a good pre and the pickups will still require the batteries to work. Volume = 10K Linear, Balance = 20K M/N, Tone = 50K Linear Concentric.

If you go passive.....Vol = 20K Audio, Balance = 20K M/N, Tone = 20K Audio w/.1 uF cap (adjust value to taste). Pickups will require 18 volts to work.

I'd recommend two 20K Ohm volume pots vs. the balance.
