I previously asked people about headless bass kits - I'm having trouble finding one I'm happy with.

I happen to have a nice piece of wenge, and some swamp ash - so I was thinking about trying to make a neck thru (wenge) headless bass with swamp ash wings - does anyone have a good set of plans for a headless bass? Please share what you have, or your own projects - even if you don't have plans, maybe your project will help inspire me!

Thanks!

I built this one a few years ago, cannabalizing the neck, electronics, and hardware from my 86' Steinberger XP-2. I still have the original body and other parts for eventual re-sale, but this was an attempt at a more traditional body. I can't say it's a masterpiece design-wise, but it went together nicely, and sounds great. In retrospect, I could have made the body thinner and cut down on the weight, I may still do that. I didn't do a full set of design drawings for it, just a 2d CAD plan view, which you are welcome to, but it's pretty specific to this neck and electronics.

That looks nice! I would love the CAD files just to have, maybe to work from or get ideas - yours turned out very nice!
