Adagio Strings

Saw these on eBay, they make some bold claims about being better than Elixirs, and seem very competitively priced. Unfortunately they don't have a 5-string set (I already emailed).

Anyone tried them?

I got a set of Adagio Pro's for a 5 string. They were standard gauge: 045, 065, 080 ,100, 125.
I was really surprised how good they sounded and now they're only like £10. I would definately buy a set again if I needed to.

I got a 4 string 45-105 gauge for £6 British Pounds. Have had them cheaper as they weren't buy it now but auction. Nothing stands out like bad workmanship, or popping when setting up, nothing of that and just got my 3rd set as i'm not rehearsing and no pro -recording. Good clarity and life-span. If you need new strings for a few gigs try them no-one least of all you will notice if they have continuity. Alas fine by me, saving of £14.

If it helps any, Adagio is the main company that supplies coated wire to string manufacturers. Anyone - save Elixir, DR and D'Addario (as of late) - gets their wire coated from Adagio.

I can't speak for them as a string manufacturer (as I've never tried their strings), but their coated wire is pretty industry standard. So from that angle, I'd give them a try with no hesitation.
