I know it's been beat to death, but too bad the Nitti Signature bass is $7,000! That said, it is cheaper than a Fodera, and about the same as a very well appointed Ken Smith or MTD,many cheaper than some Custom Shop Fenders.

That looks like a TRB5P-II with the bubinga top. Mine has the ovankol top. Those basses are pretty much unrecognized gems - one of the finest basses I own. As you can hear, the sound is fantastic, and the craftsmanship is on par with any high-end bass you can name. A little heavy, but very playable.

Seeing him at The bass Club in Chicago in 2007 encouraged me to pickup the six string bass.
And that tune is RIGHT UP MY ALLEY!
FUSION with a capital F!
I was almost certain that the guitar player was Greg Howe.

I don't think it is "too bad," but it is a testamony about the weirdness that is Ibanez. You want a $200 POS import bass with razor blades for frets? Ibanez. You want a great beginner/intermediate bass? Ibanez. You want a professional level instrument that will rival any production line instrument made? Ibanez. You want a handmade, boutique instrument that is in the upper echelon of all instruments? Ibanez. You want all those basses to look fundamentally the same? Ibanez.

I think they will probably do a cheaper version eventually. GVB1006 is 5k and afterwards did the cheaper GVB36.

hahaha this is so true..if Nitti use the singlecut BTB as his signature model maybe it'll be more convincing to spend 7k..

I never pay attention to Ibanez. Watching Fieldy and the nu metal players fumble around on them as a kid ruined the brand for me. But, if they offered to make a signature model for me that would cost $7,000 I would do it because it's funny and everyone would be scratching their heads like we are right now.

LOL..i think we grew up in the same era..this image of ibanez as a metal bass stick in my mind til now..
and dont forget Paul Gray's (slipknot) ATK...

The Nitti model is master built, not mass produced, and Ibanez certainly is not trying to break the bank with such a limited production model.

They are still made, but you have order one in the USA, almost no one stocks them.

could be any number of reasons why, but the signature bass seems to have a more open top end, and growls a little more. I dig that ones tone.
too pricey for me.
