I know there are existing TB threads on this topic but I was hoping I could get some additional, updated responses to this question / topic.
I have a bit of cash saved up and put away for another bass purchase ... My #1 reason for buying this bass is because it's a freaking MONSTER of an axe and sounds and plays BRILLIANTY....
It's this Mayones PI-3 just like the one pictured below:
I absolutely LOVE this bass and I already have experience with Mayones basses as I own a BE-5 and it rocks!
This bass sells for somewhere in the $5,000 - $6,000 price range. I know that's not considered SUPER "high end" to many here as there are quite a few basses going for well north of $10,000 - $15,000 Plus BUT it's "high end" to me personally.
Anyway, my question is about resale value ...... I know there are a lot of other basses I can buy in this price range (and would love to own and play) and they would almost guaranty a strong re-sale (or at least break even) ifI ever look to sell it which is not my intention now ....but you never know.
If I bought a vintage Fender P or J, I know it'll retain it's value or even increase in value ... What I don't know is does the same hold true for basses like Mayones?
I'm wondering what some of you think about dropping this kind of cash on a new bass such as this Mayones when I may end up selling it somewhere down the road? Do Mayones basses hold there re-sale value?
FWIW - This is a Wojtik Pilichowski signature series and is no longer made .... WJ went over to now endorse Maruszczyk (I'd love one of those two

I'm struggling with whether to spend $5,500 on this? I've saved the cash, love the bass, love the brand .... it's just, well .... I love my cash too.
