advice on a new PA

Hey guys,

I am looking to buy a new PA,i need something punchy but still portable. its for a 5 piece wedding band with a female singer, who is very good just not very loud. I was looking at a dynacord powermax 5 system. some of the places we play are bigish but then we play small gigs too. I have the small rig sorted but I just need a big one for the bigger gigs.

so can you tell me if you know this rig or know of a better one that would do the trick.

That looks like a great PA system. I would find out exactly what amount of watts you would be getting by running one set (15" and a sub) on each side. It says its a 4 channel 2600 watt 4ohm amp, so if the cabs are all 8 ohm, then you would be getting about 1/2 the rated power. You may need 4 cabs per side, 2 -15's and 2 subs, to get the 4ohm rating if they are all 8 ohm cabs. It sounds confusing, but thats because its a 4 channel stereo amp. Most power amps are 2 channel stereo. But even 1300 watts (1/2 the rated power) would be good for smaller gigs. I would call them and ask.

Honestly, powered speakers are probably a better option, and will sound better too.
I've never heard of Dynacord speakers, but if you can get QSC there and it's in your budget you can't go wrong with it:

For huge sound and awesome quality (up to 400 people):

For ultimate portability and great sound (up to 300 people):

2 QSC K10
2 QSC KSub

check out carvin, they have whole systems and they have them marked by how many people or size of room you'll be playing to.

if you have 3,000 pounds to spend in us dollars you should have about 4911.00 that should be enough.

6,000 pounds you have 9822.00 us. you could get an extremely nice pa.
