Advice on busking amps?

So the inverter mounted next to my PV cells on my garage are dangerous? I guess the nema 4R rating on it is just for show. LOL

If it was designed for that use, and professionally installed, fine. But you are missing the point by a wide margin. Both of you should recognize that many people are very careless when it comes to dangerous situations. I spent 11 years in the local fire department, and seen for myself, the unique ways that people can slice, stab, cut, poison, and, yes, electrocute themselves. I was also a residential, commercial and industrial electrician for a number of years. An un-grounded, non-ground fault interrupter equipped device is dangerous as hell. What if you're out in the park, jamming along, and the timed sprinklers come on. You cannot foresee every circumstance that could occur. And too many people fail the common sense test every time.Thumbs down on inverters.

The same thing could happen using any amp.

But since it seems you're not a DIYer and very paranoid - I recommend just buying something already completed for yourself. It's the users that can cause a problem.
Put a GFCI on the output if you'd like---and leave the ground wire off---- That's what the National Electrical Code dictates for 2 wire systems (old knob and tube in the bathroom).
 
Hi guys, just for the record, I am very much a DIY'er (worked on jet fighters, repaired copiers, built, and use 2 Greenboy 15subs, rebuilt a 350 engine and bored out a three cylinder marine engine and associated equipment). My primary goal is to educate, and inform. If some folks are knowledgeable and safely able to utilize certain types of equipment, fine. I'm just trying to help the rest. My secondary goal is to annoy flamers...:cool:
