Advice on disposing cab with vintage speakers.

I have a homebuilt replica Sunn 215B cab with two EV 15 speakers in it. The value is in the speakers, not the cab. I have been advertising them on Craigslist for quite a while and unsurprisingly, no takers. The speakers work fine.

So rather than just put it in the trash, which has become an option, what would you do with it?

What price are you asking for the cab? If it's priced low enough, I can't believe some kid just starting out, or someone looking for a cab to leave in a rehearsal space wouldn't be willing to take it off your hands.
If there has been zero interest, maybe your price is still too high.

How 'homemade' is the cab? If it's fairly close to professional, pull the drivers, do what you want with those, find some cheapo 15's to stick in there, and donate it to a charitable organization or music school that will give you a receipt for perceived value that you can use against your taxes next year. If the cab is merely a "nice try in shop class" example, tear it apart to salvage or repurpose any wood that you'd like, OR just toss it, and be done with it. Maybe turn it into a pet shelter?

I'm a lifelong woodworker, so It's pretty good. I haven't touched it in 30 years, other than to test the speakers a couple of years ago. Yeah, I'm done with it. I need to figure out a place to donate it. The school around here that does music is well funded, so they're not begging for anything. As I said, I might just trash it. But seems a waste.

You might have more luck just trying to sell the speakers by themselves rather than in a cab. There is a market for vintage speakers still in working condition. I'd try listing them on TB.

Last 18" cab I sold was simply because it had a hard-to-find driver that a local sound engineer was looking for. He threw the cab away, got a replacement 18 for pennies on the dollar.
Not stated clearly in OP, but make sure those driver names are showing up in your listing.

I had a couple of horn-loaded PA cabs that I had built, back around 1980, when I had no money for anything better. I ended up harvesting the drivers, which I sold at a garage sale, and the broke up the cabs to put in the trash.

Sometimes you just need to respectfully put old equipment to rest. They served their purpose, and are now hopelessly obsolete.

I also have a knack for keeping old computer parts around until they are hopelessly old technology that no one wants and are not supported in any newer computers. They go right from my storage shelf to an electronics recycler.

Actually, getting rid of old junk can be emotionally freeing.

Agree. I find it quite liberating to be done with something I don't use anymore. Takes less space in my brain to think about what I want to do with it.
I'd free list the cabinet for free on CL or MP. Chances are someone might not even use it as a speaker cabinet.

2017 a close friend passed. He had bunches of functioning DJ gear, mixers, power amps, speakers, etc. All of it was solid good quality gear in its time, also way heavy. I was handed the job of selling the stuff, and most of the people were confusing new late 70's cost with sale ability in 2017.

One speaker set ended up being sold so cheap it was barely worth the walk to the attached garage. The rest went to a guy who cleaned up, fixed gear to go to start up churches, and small churches that needed it. Whenever their was a donation he diligently got a thank you letter and receipt to the donator.

Time and technology moves on.

Is there a speaker reconing business close by? I have donated quality speakers to the "local" guy here on the east coast of Florida.

All I would have to do is just put it outside here. People here will take literally anything for free off the curb. I've dumped everything from futon frames to broken air purifiers and they are all gone within an hour or two.
