Advice regarding slap bass tone!

every time I ask here about my rig clipping and not offering enough lows for my gig, I get the same reply, use more mids, push back the lows. Well, I guess Im real ol school cause I like the lows I used to way back in the days when I used a Kustom, tuk n roll, metal flake green 2x15 cab n 200 amp or my Bassman 135 w/ 412 Fender cab.

Nowadays I want to be current and fresh and use lite gear and all but the bands I play with all want more lows on stage even with PA support. I just bought a NV610 cab that I used with a GBE 750 last weekend and the gitard still asked for more lows from me, up yours buddy, cause it sounded good to me. But still the 610 is loaded in my suv to go back and so I can get the NV215 to A/B live.

Now I'll be giggin with the my other band, blues rock, not the funk/disco badn this weekend but I figure I'll get a good idea if the 610 or 215 will work for me to decide which of these cabs to keep. I did some pop n slap this past weekend and I dug the sealed cab, with Cirrus 5er tone that I heard last Saturday. But since I have the chance to A/B these cabs I will. I still like the big bottom slap/pop Im used to, so should work out with either cab, just depends which one will sound best to me. But I feel ya, like the ol school tone.
