i have been around for a while and I learn a lot with any of you guys. here there are amazing luthiers and pros, from which I believe many of us take advice and benefits.

Last year I got a new bass, which have become my favorite practicing gear once is very light, plays better than any other that i have and the sound is terrific. i believe it is a prototype for a very know bassist from Brasil (Humberto Gessinger), because it is clearly a custom and i've just seen two others of those ever (from the same builder, not identical though, Gessinger's is a fretless and passive).
Mine is a 2001 handmade bass, from Alex Cheruti (luthier), neck through with a Kent Armstrong pup. scale 33.5", 24 frets, bridge and circuits by Cheruti, gotoh tuners.
wood is maple and sucupira for the neck (really don't know the name in english), escale in brazillian rosewood (jacarandá).
However it has a problem with the neck, which is somewhat bended. it is not a matter of truss rod set up, the thing is really bent specially around the 12th fret. not sure if the photos can grab it.
not BIG deal, and when i got it I knew that, so it is not that i've been fooled or something. it was just really cheap and it is very rare, so I took the risk, and I love it!
while this doesn't prevent me from playing it, because still plays really well and it is a keeper, i wonder if it can get worse with time or if there is something i can make to repair/ stop the process, like change the scale, or ... i don't know...
I still have some repairs to make in it specially in regard of the appearance (I am considering PU cover), so maybe i can make a more serious intervention on it, but not sure. Would a new PU cover help to keep it like it is as the wood would not be exposed?
