If you change the driver you'll change sensitivity, output and tone, and without precise specs on the original driver there's no way to predict how. And no, Aggy won't tell you what those specs are, so it's a crapshoot.

yep, you are right...but with the measures from the cab maybe there is a remplacement...I dont know if was lucky but I read that some guys here put a eminence deltalite 2512 insede the aggy with better results...:bag:

I think the most easy way is buy one aggy speaker....

Since Aguilar uses Eminence in all of their 112 and 212 cabs, I contacted them for advice on replacing one speaker in my GS212. I was told that the Aguilar speaker is a cross between the Delta Pro-12A and the Kappa Pro-12A made to Aguilar's specs. He went on to suggest that the Kappa Pro is the closest production speaker to match the stock Aguilar (Eminence) speaker.

Just traced an annoying buzz to the handle rattling sympathetically. So it looks like I'm off the hook for now.

Good to know about the Deltalite, though - not much cheaper but lighter with more "presence" sounds like it would be fun to try.

I would lay my money on a 3012HO personally.

Why not just get the proper replacement from Aguilar and be done with it?

Speaking for myself, I didn't buy the Aguilar replacement because they charge an extra 20 bucks + shipping to put their name on an Eminence speaker. I ordered mine from parts-express.com and got a better price + free shipping.

Installed in my GS212, there is no difference (that I can hear) between the stock, and the replacement.

Eminence makes speakers for alot of cab companies that put their name on them. From what I've heard, the Aguilar speakers are made to Aguilars specs for those cabs. I'm not sure I'd be willing to put just any speaker in my cab just to save $20. But if it works for you, that's cool.

    A wise decision IMO.

+1 for the eminence deltalite 2512 in the aggy gs112. After blowing up the factory speaker, and reading 3 separate reviews from people who have done this, I put my foot down at the local store and got them to drop the deltatilie 2512 in there. It kills it. I thought I was going to sell the cab, but now I'm keeping it. Dropping 10+ lbs and much better tone in my opinion - highly recommended.

The guy at the store was blown away as well - they normally use other speakers, and tried to talk me into something else. When I went to pick up the cab, he told me he's already ordered 2 more deltalites to drop into a 2x12 cab, and I guess they are cheaper and much lighter than what he was going to use.

I'd also like to emphasise this. To you aguilar gs112 users. I have one that the handle rattles like crazy and at first thought it was a blown speaker. I even got a new handle from the folks at aguilar (free of charge btw) and the rattle went away for awhile but came back. The three other aguilar GS112 and NT cabs I've owned didn't have this problem. I'm just saying check the handle first before thinking you've got a blown speaker.

btw I do like what I'm reading about the deltalite speakers with these cabs, I may even pick up a used GS112 some day and replace the speaker just so I can check out the difference. But really no need to right now 'cause I love the way they sound as is.

  16. Tone is subjective. What exact difference are you hearing that makes the Deltalite "kill" over the stock Aguilar speaker? More mids? Deeper lows? What of the power handling? I'm wondering if this speaker sounds more like the DB series?

  17. I put a Delta Pro-12A in a GS-412 that I used to have just to try and get some upeer clarity out of what I consider to be a overly mid scooped cab and it helped it out considerably,I felt stupid having to haul around another cab along with the GS-412 to get the claity I was looking for.
I have since sold the GS-412 and picked up a GS-212 and swapped out the original with another Delta Pro-12A but I still dont care for that as a stand alone so I allways use it with a Avatar 2x10 neo and it is almost perfect for me now.

kind of a stretch here.... i have a GK neo 112-I. It's quite similar in voicing and size to the aguilar GS112. I got it off evilbay...and the speaker blew the first gig i played.

So I put in an eminence deltalite 2512. I read all the specs beforehand; it seemed to match up well on paper and it definitely matched up well in person. So, count me as another vote for that option.

    +1 on the deltalite.
    I'm very, very, very impressed.
Best sound I've ever had. Can't wait to try 2 of these wee gs12s together, should be formidable.
