    hey guys,

was wondering, is there a front and back cover for the aguilar head case? and how heavy is it? says 3 lbs shipping on the website! is that true? does it feel any lighter than an skb rack?

i've only seen a 3 unit version housing a db750, and frankly, i couldnt tell how light or heavy it was considering the 750 itself is quite a behemoth.

Yeah, 3 lbs for the two space and 21 lbs for the three!

I thought about getting one for my 750 for two seconds until I realized I would be adding 50% to the weight. Actually, both of those numbers seem wonky to me.

    what the...

  4. I have the Aguilar padded 3 Space rack bag for my DB750, which, BTW, I don't use. I keep it mine housed in a 4 space SKB with a power conditioner. It's weighing in at 9-9.5 lbs on my scale. So I could imagine that the 21lbs 3 space Head Case would definitley weigh much more than 9lbs. I find it easier to schlep around in the 4 space skb, than the 3 space padded bag. 3lbs just doesn't seem right for the 2 space head case, it's gotta be a misprint!

I had one but it weighed quite a bit. Not as much as my rack now though

FedEx just delivered a Head Case for my DB 750 about an hour ago. According to the shipping label, the total weight, which includes the large, heavy-duty box it came in, is 21 lbs. I don't have a bathroom scale handy, but if I had to guess I'd say that the case itself weighs in the neighborhood of 16 lbs. It's not light--about two or three pounds more than, say, a standard SKB case (14 lbs) but it's also not bulky, as those cases typically are.

Also, the Head Case doesn't come with either a front or back cover. I thought I might be able to pick up aftermarket covers of some kind, but now I'm not so sure: the rails are recessed so that when the amp is seated its handles protrude just slightly beyond the front lip of the case. In the back, on the other hand, there's about an inch or so of clearance, so finding an aftermarket cover may be a possibility.

Hey those are pretty cool cases. I think It ends up looking allot more like a amp head than a rack.

I'll bet you could have a good upholstery shop build a matching cover (that just slips over the top and sides) with some type of reinforced front/rear panels for extra protection.

These look just like the cases that the Ashdown amps come in. I think it's a good idea for the smaller amps but not for the big 750.

Anyhow, can anyone give me the measurement for the depth of the case that the AG amplifiers go into? Thanks. These would be a great option for other amps as well.
