Aguilar help

Okay,

I play small combo stuff... Jazz, blues, but no metal or distorted anything.

I'm really tempted by the new TH 350 being released. But there is that small voice in my head wondering about having enough clean head room. I'd like to pair it with a DB 210.

The other option is going with the TH500 and paying some additional cash. :hmm:

Any words you guys have to offer would be great. :help:

I heard Dave Boonshoft playing through one with a 112 cab at NAMM, and it was plenty loud. The tone was also what you'd expect from aguilar. It's a very impressive little amp. Remember, these are "Aguilar watts." Unless you are going to be playing some good-sized venues, it should be enough. Check the feature set and make sure it has everything you need. If you're going to be doing medium-large to large venues, I'd recommend the TH500.

I don't know that you'd get a whole lot more into a single 210 than a couple hundred watts. Maybe some of the neos would take a little more, some of the heavier duty 210's out there might take a bit more, but most are doing good if you can pump 200w worth into them. That said, you might like the headroom of the 500w, but I have no problems at all using a head that does 200w into a 210. Gets way louder than I could ever stand it.

FWIW.....The Perfect Bass (TPB) has an easter sale going on. Good till the 8th of April. Use coupon code "EGGSTRA15" at checkout. The coupon is good for "up to" 15% off. Both Aggies (350 and 500) come it an 10% off.

TH350 $499....-10% = $450

TH500 $699....-10% = $630

TPB also offers no sales tax and free shipping.

Guitar Center is running an easter sale as well. However they only carry the TH500 (at least that's all they show on their website). Maybe a quick call would prove otherwise. The coupon code "EAST15" is good until the 8th of April as well. This one is good for a full 15% off.

TH500 $699....-15% = $594

GC has free shipping if sent to the store. Only caveat is you have to pay sales tax. I dunno what your tax rate is down in HOU....but up here in DFW, it's like 8-9%. I think going with The Perfect Bass might be your best option in terms of saving money....and they also have the TH350 in stock. Good luck. Report back with some feedback if you end up getting that little guy.
