Aguilar th350 or EBS Reidmar 250

I have dilemma..and EBS Reidmar at home..super powerfull, great sounding...but..GAS never sleeps..thinking of Aguilar TH350 but dont have chance to try it..what to do?? Change Reidmar for Aguilar TH350 or keep it...p.s. playing trough EBS CL112 cab and passive jazz bass.

Never played EBS' stuff but I have the Aguilar 350 and really, really enjoy it. I love how flexible it is with it's baked in sound. Now I'm playing P-based basses and a Stingray and I do feel this is amp is well suited for those basses. Just my $.02.

I've been gigging the Reidmar 250 for more than 5 years. Great amp. Plenty of power (for me). It sounds like EBS, though. Aggies are different. More "vintage" tone to my ears. I hear the Reidmar as being more neutral. Great EQ section.

I think the 350 has plenty of headroom for what I use it for (Epifani PS112). You can live with no drive on and it stay really clean and the you can give it that pushed tube-y feel (my preference) if you want. I’m very happy with it.

I was pretty certain I was going to buy the th350 based on reviews and demos. I went in to buy it, tried it out, and I just didn’t like it. I know I’m in the TB minority on this. For me it was just too cloudy in the midrange and I couldn’t dial in a tone I loved. It’s all subjective, you might love it like so many other people do. However I wouldn’t worry about it being loud enough. At 4 ohms with enough speakers, it would be able to keep up with any scenario I’m ever in.

IMO.....If you are going to make the jump, go with the TH 500 or 700. There will be little to no extra volume/headroom jumping to the 350.

The Aguilar will not really be any louder. Different voicing for sure, but as the EBS is less coloured, you can get the Aguilar sound with a pedal. Getting the Aguilar to sound like the EBS is probably a no go...

Also, with the cab being the bottle neck for loudness and power handling, why get a more powerful amp? It makes no sense. If anything, get a second, identical cab.

First, thank you all very much...i didnt i want more power, EBS Reidmar is very.very loud one! I just wanted to try something new, somethng different..but, after all i think i will stay with my Reidmar..sounds like a thunder.

I'm a big fan of EBS amps and I still play through a Drome 12 I bought from a TB'er in Boston more than 10 years ago. It's the loudest and cleanest 150 watts I have ever heard. It also showcases my sloppy technique.
