Aguilar tone hammer and tone plus the cab.

Hello.

I am using Aguilar tone hammer 500 head with Ampeg PF410HLF cab.

For some reason I can't find the tone I am looking for. Im not saying I don't like this combo and not about to change anything just yet, but asking if someone would give some tips. I've used this head for recordings and on that I can get somewhat decent tone, but if with the same head EQ coming through the ampeg, it doesn't satisfy me enough, so is it the amp or what? I noticed that the amp has high frequency horn level filter back, but I can't really hear any difference. Maybe it's my ears or something but that being said, someone could give some tips?

I am looking something warm vintage sound yet punchy.

Hi @CruelGarfield! Quiet a rig you have. There's an awesome thread regarding this head. 285 pages since it started back in 2010.
Things become clearly to people like me that wants to know "what's happening inside the machines", when @Eublet published some plots about the behaviour of the controls. The magic occurs when exploring GAIN, DRIVE and MID freq:

Also it's fair to say that some of us realized that this head may not sound good specially alone sometimes, but will sit perfectly in the mix of your band situation and enhance the overall sound a lot.
