Double Bass Aguilar tonehammer preamp

John Patitucci

That's the interesting thing about John Patitucci,

Every time I've seen him live he's using the Aguilar DB 751 which has a different EQ setup than the Tone Hammer. So in general, he uses the DB 751 with Double Bass and the Tone Hammer with electric.

He endorses the Grace Designs Felix, but I can't see any evidence of that preamp onstage. Regardless, he's John Patitucci.

Yeah I saw John in 2019 on a three bass gig with Ralphe Armstrong and Bob Hurst where they payed tribute to Detroit Bassists Paul Chambers ( though not born in Detroit but spent a significant amount of time here) , Ron Carter and James Jamerson where they all played their upright basses and a Fender P- bass.
John’s set up was Tonehammer & 4x10 cab and Grace Designs.
When I spoke with him after the show he said the Grace Designs was for FOH signal from the upright.
I posted the pics somewhere here on talkbass but I can’t remember where.
As usual John sounded amazing and was the perfect host/ gentleman...... world class and by far my favorite bass Doubler.
