It's a good thing that AI even factors in that pedals need a little more room for the cables.
One might think that suggesting 10 pedals and a Pedaltrain Terra 42 would be a bit over the top,
but once you think of adding a little breathing room - especially now, when the northern Hemisphere is in the Winter season and you're prone to wear shoes that have a little more bulk, it totally checks out:

I can't wait for someone to tell me if this is a good setup or not. We need a human fact checker. I'm not trusting a computer. There have been countless documentaries showing the dangers of AI. Start with the 1968 documentary 2001: A Space Odyssey. AI tries to kill everyone on a space ship. Then there's the 1970 documentary about Dr. Charles Forbin and his AI project Colossus. The computer threatened to destroy everyone on Earth unless we agreed to live under it's rule. AI never ends well.

I guess you're kidding, right?

I think it's sad people are expecting AI to make all their decisions for them.
Use your own brain and preferences.
I find the list of suggestions it gave to be unhelpful, unless the goal is to spend lots of money.
Now if it was able to justify it's selections it might be useful to get folks started.
AI is only as good as the data it was trained on.
Good luck.

Yeah, well. This kind of is the surprising bit.
Of course, this suggestion fails the mark by a mile in many points.
-AI suggested to mount the pedals on that giant board.
-It also suggested a 9 outlet power supply for 10 pedals.
-About half of the devices are somewhat middle of the line and you'd have to look long and hard to find a human that would claim that they are the first choice for their spot if money is not an issue.

But given the task and very little info to work with, it comes up with a board that would actually offer a variety of tones and effects, and this thing would actually work.

A lot of people miss the fact that GPT doesn't "think" really, it is based on a semantic prediction engine, so all it does is try to predict what could be a possible answer to a question, based on its knowledge base. It doesn't care if the answer is "good", "right" etc. It's not so intelligent, in fact (it is artificial, though). The Q/A UI makes us believe it's a smart agent, but that's just an illusion. So I'm not surprised at all by the mistakes you noticed. I would *never* ask for a real advice to any AI, because it's not designed to give advice (there are many other things I would do with chat GPT though).

Yeah from what I've seen it's really just a language model. It can spit out stuff that sounds good, but you better double check any data/facts it spits out at you.

Still a cool tool with a lot of uses (drafting a resume, cover letter, summarizing your thoughts etc. etc.)

Edit: meant to quote the above, whoops

Maybe, maybe not. I know the 'documentaries' are actually fictional movies. My fear of AI-based misinformation and disinformation is real.
It's more a problem of misinterpretation than misinformation.

Again, AI being based on a language model, we should not think it gives information, it's not supposed to. The chat like UI is misleading.

The only remaining step is to grant ChatGPT direct access to your bank account so that it can just buy it all for you and have it shipped to your door, possibly without you even knowing. "Gosh, honey. I can't return it. The credit card AI bot spoke to the Sweetwater AI bot and confirmed this is a valid purchase. I didn't even know I needed this!"
