Akai Deep impact switch mod

Hey guys

I have a deep impact, and i have to say its my favorite pedal ever, but those foot switches are soooo piss weak, i dont even know when i've pressed it, and i've been in soo many gigs where i've hit the button 3 or 4 times until i can get it on.

anyone ever have this problem and do anything about it, i'm really tempted to change the switchhhh

This is the first that I have heard about bad DI switches, ever. I'm sure it's not too difficult to replace the switches, but make sure that you replace them with switches of the same kind. Otherwise you're likely to not get the effect to work.

Just sold my Deep Impact after owning it for 10+ years, never had a single problem with it. I thought switches were very high quality actually. Are you jumping on them with all your weight or something?

My headrush switches are a little finicky as well.

I've not investigated this, but I have a strong hunch that the footswitches are actually just mechanical actuators for smaller "tactile" switches that are mounted to the circuit board. Either adjusting the mechanical actuators, or replacing the tactile switches or both should have them working as good as new again.
